Make your plans now for April 6-7, 2018 to attend the CA-AFCS Western Region Biennial Conference, to be held at the beautiful Hilton San Francisco Airport Bayfront Hotel in Burlingame. The Hilton offers free shuttle service from the nearby San Francisco International Airport. Please register now!
We are gearing up for maximum capacity participation from faculty, students, and industry professionals from Northern and Southern California and neighboring states. CALL FOR PROPOSALS DEADLINE: Friday, December 1, 2017
A call for proposals to present a workshop, presentation, and/or a poster on innovative teaching or research related to families, nutrition, apparel, interiors, consumers, or any aspect of the consumer and family sciences field has been made. Submission Guidelines can be found here.
Submit your file as an attachment to an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by deadline.
Accepted abstracts submitted according to these criteria will be posted on the CA-AFCS website following the conference.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT CALL FOR PROPOSALS
DEADLINE: Thursday, March 1, 2018
Proposals are requested for poster or creative presentations by individuals or student groups for this conference on any topic related to family & consumer sciences content. Projects will be displayed both Friday and Saturday of the conference (April 6-7), and must be attended for a designated one hour session on Saturday, April 7.
EXAMPLES: Summary of a research project, field experience, community engagement activity, garment design, interior space design, menu or diet plan, children’s learning tool. These may be displayed on a table (provided), on a dress form or mannequin (provided), or on a poster (provided by you).
FCS STUDENT COMPETITION – 2017/2018
The deadline for submissions is: JANUARY 15, 2018
The California Affiliate of AAFCS is pleased to announce our second biennial student competition. The competition is open to both undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in FCS programs. Some eligibility requirements are established.
This year’s theme is “Assisting individuals, families, and communities in making informed decisions about their well-being, relationships, and resources to achieve optimal quality of life.”
Winners will be notified via email by February 16, 2018.
